HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Thanks to all the swimmers and divers for all of their hard work at Ridgefield, Greenwich and New Canaan.  We are happy to be swimming/diving with such a great team!  Don’t forget to check out all of the fantastic pictures that have been posted on the website from practices and all 3 meets!

CONGRATULATIONS SWIMMERS/DIVERS!

Congratulations to all the swimmers & divers who participated in the Ridgefield meet on Wednesday.  It was such an exciting meet  and everyone did a fantastic job.  The final score – Ridgefield 93/Staples 92 – unbelievable!  Thank you for all your enthusiasm, hard work and determination.

Greenwich is next … come prepared to swim fast and cheer loudly!

Important Travel Info from Coach Schare

Dress For Meets
Dress appropriately for school on the day of all meets. Proper dress for the men refers to dress pants, shirt and tie. Appropriate attire for women includes dress pants, skirt or dress.  Jeans, sweats,sneakers, and hats are not appropriate attire.

Travel
The departure schedule will be observed as closely as possible. If you are late, there is a good chance the bus will be gone.  If you cannot make the trip because of sickness, you must notify Coach Schareas soon as possible.

The Westport Public Schools Board of Education Policy prohibits any team member to remain at the away competition site, or depart to another destination other than that scheduled for the team unless they have an “Athletic Contest Travel Release” form completed by a parent or guardian, stating that they may do so.  The head coach does not have the authority to allow an exception to the rule.

The trip begins when the bus departs, and ends when the bus returns to Staples HS.  All rules and regulations will be enforced the entire trip.

Vacation Practice Schedule

• December 23rd (half day of school) 12:15 – 2:45 pm
• No practcie December 24th-27th
• December 28-30 9 -11:30 AM
• No practice December 31st-Jan 3rd
• Resume regular practice schedule on Jan 4th.

*If you know in advance that you will miss vacation practices, please notify Coach Schare.

Time change for the Greenwich meet 12/18

Please note that the time of Greenwich meet has been changed.  The date is still 12/18.

The swimmers/divers now have an early dismissal at 1:15 pm, bus departure at 1:30 pm, warm-up begins at 2:15 pm, and the races start at 3:00 pm.

Pasta Dinner Thursday 12/10 at Bertucci’s

We are very excited to kick off our season this week with our first official pasta dinner on Thursday December 10th at Bertucci’s.  The swimmers, divers and managers should plan to go right to Bertucci’s after practice on Thursday.

Thank you again to the Camche family for this special treat!

If you told us that you would like to order a Swim/Dive sweatshirt/t-shirt combo, please bring a check for $30 to the pasta dinner made out to Staples Boys’ Swim Team.  You do not need an order form – we placed an order based on the sizes that you already submitted.

We will also bring some Staples Swimming/Diving car stickers to Bertucci’s – they are one for $3 or two for $5. Please bring cash if you would like one for your car!
